CTBA is planning a fun Durga Pujo for the Bengali community of Central Texas – an eclectic mix of traditional with the modern. Saturday starts with our Pujo rituals which will include “kolabou snan”, Kumari Pujo and Pushpanjali among
other things. Pujo will be followed by Prasad distribution and our traditional lunch (khichuri). After some afternoon fun activities, we start our evening schedule with Sandhi Pujo. Our cultural program will kick off with a dance drama presented by our talented community members, followed by dinner break, featuring sumptuous Bengali cuisine. We will resume cultural program with Bangla play, “Apapobiddho” and cap off Saturday night with a musical performance and look forward to seeing our community members’ dance moves during the Bollywood Night presented by Arjun Adapalli.
Sunday will also start with Pujo rituals with key attractions being Dashami Pujo, Sindur khela. After Prasad distribution and lunch serving delicious Indian cuisine, we will convene for our final round of cultural program starting with an instrumental performance. Grand finale of this year’s Pujo will be a musical afternoon by Sourendra & Soumyajit (S&S). They enthralled audiences in Houston ,Chicago and Dallas last year and we are all eagerly waiting for them to entertain us. Finally, we will enjoy Bijoya snacks and say goodbye to Ma Durga and start countdown for 2019 Pujo.
